How do you effectively communicate about your research? For example, how do you write a clear article for interested outsiders? And if you had only 2 minutes, what would you tell. We invite PhD researchers from the BirdEyes community for a science communication workshop with science journalist Rob Buiter, mainly focused on writing.

During these two afternoons in September, we will initially practice simply telling your story in a pitch of no more than two minutes. Experience shows that writing a clear story is much easier if you can first tell it live in an attractive way. We will also discuss some theoretical background information on clear communication. You will be sent home with an assignment: write a news story of no more than 400 words presenting your (or someone else’s) research project) to the outside world.

During the second afternoon of the workshop, we will primarily focus on discussing these texts together.
